Yesterday's session closed weak in both indices. Nifty finished at 23,382.60 — just 25 points off the day's low, having given back the entire 376-point range from the highs. Bank Nifty was uglier: a 1,113-point range with the close at 53,643, only 173 points above the low. Closes near the low typically carry forward as overhang into the next session.
For Nifty, the relevant zone today is S1 at 23,249 — that's just 134 points below the close and aligns with where buyers would need to step in to prevent a continuation. On the upside, PP at 23,491 sits roughly 109 points above the close and would be the first reclaim level; a push through there opens room toward R1 at 23,625. R2 and R3 look distant on a single session unless there's a gap-up reopening above PP.
Bank Nifty's 1,113-point range is wider than recent norms, so today could see a contraction. PP at 53,898 is 255 points above the close — a gap-up there flips the bias intraday. Without that, S1 at 53,214 is the line that matters; losing it brings S2 at 52,786 into play. R2/R3 are more than 1,300 points away and unlikely without a catalyst.
